About Alan Derosby

Alan Derosby, a proud Maine native, has devoted the past several years to nurturing his lifelong passion for storytelling. With a foundation in short stories, his early work appeared in a variety of online publications and printed anthologies. He has since transitioned to novels, captivating readers with his blend of suspense, gripping characters, and immersive world building.
His debut novel, Man of Clay, introduced readers to his flair for blending the paranormal with historical fiction. He followed up with Death and Mr. Fould, a Gothic psychological thriller that explores themes of deception, desperation, love and friendship and The Orpheum, a haunting tale of star crossed lovers and the tragedies their choices caused. Man of Ashes was released in the fall of 2025, a direct sequel to Man of Clay. In January of 2026, Alan released his first short story collection, Whispers from Within: Tales of Terror and Madness.
Beyond his dedication to writing, Alan shares his passion for history as a teacher at Messalonskee High School. There, he inspires students to think critically about history, learn from the past, and find their own voices.
Outside the classroom and his writing desk, Alan cherishes time spent with his family and his adored cat, and is a devoted New York Mets fan. Whether he is creating a fascinating story, composing a new lesson plan, or cheering on his team, Alan Derosby approaches every venture with passion, professionalism and a genuine love for his work.
